It was an early start for a number of members as they helped with setting up in preparation for the club's annual 'Corvettes at the Port' event. Corvettes started rumbling into Todd Street, Port Adelaide as soon as the road was closed and began to get into formation ready for the day ahead.

As the morning progressed examples from every generation of Corvette (except C7……our bank balances will still need to grow a bit more before we will see one of these appear in the club!) Eventually the street was filled with nearly 70 Corvettes with a number of others spotted inhabiting nearby streets. The visiting public and club members were entertained throughout the day by the band 'Reload' who played a good selection of Rock & Roll music. Judy had a guitar made to resemble her C3 and had it painted the same colour as her car. This was played by the band, "Mustang Sally" played on a Corvette guitar, who said a Ford does not have a tune.

The weather treated us well with a very pleasant, clear, low 30's day which was lucky given the much higher temperatures the day before. Many of us found shade in the nearby Port Dock Brewery who managed to keep us all well fed and watered.

As the day wore on many a conversation was had about our favourite form of transport. By mid-afternoon it was time for the presentation of awards and the raffle draws. Jose Morant took out both the Entrant's Choice Award and Public Choice Award with his beautifully presented 1959 C1 Corvette. He was a deserving winner of both of these awards, the restoration of this Corvette has been a labour of love for the past 14 years and the vehicle was only put back on the road 10 days before this event. Joe proudly collected the awards and mentioned that as far as the restoration went he was "glad that it's over". Immediately following on from the awards was the raffle draw for both the Corvette Club and Foundation Shine. Thanks to Sharon & Robyn from Shine for coming along to help support us with plenty of raffle prizes. We seem to have a number of repeat prize winners in our club with Gary and Jeff picking up prizes…again and Rudi being extra lucky picking up 2 prizes on the day.

A big thank you must go to all those who made the effort to come and support 'Corvettes at the Port' especially those who travelled from Balaklava, Whyalla, Barossa and other locations to help make the day possible.

Thanks must also go to the representatives from Mothers Car Care Products, Foundation Shine and our friends who had the two fantastic looking power boats on display.
Last but not least a special mention must go to Laurie for taking on the lead role of organising what was a very successful event.

Well done everyone!!
