Corvette Club of South Australia Inc.

Goof put his hand up and organised the March 10 run for the club.

Starting point was K-Mart Anzac Hwy Kurulta Park at the leisurely hour of 10 am. With thirteen cars ready for a days tripping through the Adelaide hills they set off. Well about half of them got out of the car park. When it came time to leave Neil’s car refused to budge obviously enjoying the admiring looks from shoppers had gone to the cars head. A few loyal club members stayed to offer support and advice on how to get the car moving again. Neil insisted it was the battery so a starter pack and jumper leads were utilised to no avail the monster refused to turn over. The RAA was reluctantly called and promptly attended, the starter motor being quickly diagnosed as the culprit. Mean while those who had actually made a start on the journey realised that they were a few vehicles short of a cruise and had stopped on the side of Greenhill Road to await the verdict on the remainder of their companions. So finally after 11 am we all re grouped and headed up Greenhill Rd to Uraidler, onto Oak Bank, Lenswood, Mt Torrens and then over the back of the hills to Mt Pleasant. At Eden Valley we left the main roads and headed into the back blocks of the Barossa along Tanunda Creek Rd, then down Menglers Hill and into the Barossa proper. We stopped for lunch at the Angas Park Hotel in the main street of Nuriootpa. Barry Koski and Christine joined us for lunch and a few cold ales.
